Liver: An organ in the abdominal cavity that secretes bile and governs various metabolic processes in the human body.

liver biopsy: The most common method of diagnosing liver disease and assessing liver damage. It is generally done by the insertion of a small needle into the liver to remove blood and/or liver cells.

liver transplant: The process of removing the damaged of liver of one person and replace it with a healthy liver from another. This is one treatment option for various liver disorders, especially those that are deadly.
