Portal hypertension: A liver disorder caused by the backup of blood that cannot flow through the liver because of liver damage.

Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC): A liver disorder caused by inflammation of the bile ducts.

Prothrombin Time (PT): As a test used to determine liver function, PT evaluates blood clotting time, which will increase as liver function gets worse.

pruritus: Skin itching caused by liver disease.

steatohepatitis: A liver disorder that results in an enlarged, fatty liver. It can be caused by alcoholism, diabetes or obesity.
